The book Lica srpske muzike: Popularna muzika (Faces of Serbian Music: Popular Music) by Prof. Vesna Mikić, PhD (posthumous edition) is the first publication released within the publishing activity of the Center for Popular Music Research. This volume brings together works dedicated to phenomena of popular music in Serbia, offering a broad insight into the aesthetic, social, and cultural processes that shape the local popular music scene. As a long-time professor at the Faculty of Music and the founder of CEPOM, Vesna Mikić left a strong theoretical and methodological foundation for the study of popular music, which this book further highlights and makes accessible to a wider professional and academic community.

The edition was edited by Biljana Leković, Bojana Radovanović, Adriana Sabo, and Ana Đorđević, with translations contributed by Maša Spaić, Marija Maglov, and Milan Milojković. The cover design is by Milan Šuput. The book was presented at a promotion held in the hall of the Serbian Composers’ Association, featuring contributions from Rade Radivojević (President of the Association), composer Aleksandra Kovač, musicologist and sociologist Maja Vasiljević, music theorist Katarina Lazarević, and musicologist Maša Spaić, in a discussion moderated by Biljana Leković, one of the editors.

The musical part of the program featured a performance by the Viktor Tumbas TRIO ensemble (Bojan Cvetković – piano, Miroslav Šarbanović – double bass, and Viktor Tumbas – vocals), who performed jazz arrangements of popular Yugoslav songs from the 1960s and 1970s. The promotion was organized through the collaboration of the Center for Popular Music Research and the Organization of Music Authors of Serbia – SOKOJ.
